Through its development, Moop fosters hands-on education, encourages community collaboration, and connects makerspaces, students, and enthusiasts to explore robotics together.

Journey So Far

Aug 2024

Concept and First Prototype

The idea for Moop first emerged in August 2024, when I sketched the initial concept and began designing the first prototype. After this initial phase, there was a long pause before development resumed.

Feb 2025

Partnership with Mixxer

I began my internship at Mixxer Community Makerspace where I work to develop Moop into an open-source educational robotics kit. Mixxer supports me with funding, workspace, and access to professional tools and machines, while I contribute by advancing Moop’s design and sharing it as a hands-on learning resource for the community.

Aug 2025

Mixxer robotics Meeting

I presented Moop to an audience of 20+ attendees of varying ages, all with an interest in robotics, during the monthly Mixxer Robotics meeting, demonstrating its design, functionality, and potential as an educational kit.

Sep 2025

Arts On Fire Festival

During the Winston - Salem Arts On Fire Festival at Mixxer, I presented Moop directly to 117+ attendees, sharing its design and educational purpose. I engaged the audience with demonstrations and a sign-up sheet, successfully generating interest and enthusiasm for the project.
